The who:
We are a funk, groove, R&B and rock trio based out of the Asheville-Candler-Fletcher area.
Instrumentation: Matt Mikulski (drums, lead vox), Chris Cartrett (bass), Sim Hickman (guitar and vox)
Special thanks to our loving families for supporting us building out this project, as well as to Walter Hartheimer, for all the work he contributed helping push conception to validation and realization. Walter, I hope you remain inspired to make not just good but GREAT music, and that you are leaning into your musical and other goals.
Funkgettaboutit's mission:
Perform some of our personal favorite groovy music, with a lil' bit of our homemade special sauce on the top (or side). Tunes that have been extensively either time- or audience-tested, and proven to help people of many walks 'Funk-Getta-Bout' some of the more superficial emotional posturing we clever apes are prone to do / otherwise give some of their body a little break from their mind =)
Cost:
Cost should be negotiated on a case-by-case basis, but what seems a fair cost structure for our on-siting, setup, performing and breakdown time, plus possible other ancillary services would be $300 - $600 (for entertaining for a 2 hour slot, w/ an intermission in the middle of that timeframe).
The pricing scales as we play a more critical role realizing a live, amplified music performance that would otherwise not be possible at your event. This can mean either additionally bringing and running either our vocals PA, or even our PA plus our own battery-powered energy source (ie, in setups where it would not be easy to run power to the intended stage). Or, one of us might need to do a pre-site visit to help you decide on best band location and orientation for acoustics/your desired event flow. Those things would of course add to the cost of realizing the music performance, but should not become prohibitive of the project overall.
Stage plot + audio capacity:
We're a three-piece, and so need room on your stage for a medium-sized drum kit plus two guitarists, their amplifiers and (when needed) our left and right PA and speakers.
We understand that venues vary in levels of in-built sound capturing and amplification / performance readiness in general... if needed, the combined ~400W RMS setup we can bring in for turnkey purposes should be good in most stage-audience setups for up to a couple hundred people indoors, or 2-3 times that outdoors if there are no obstructions.
Of course, we are also happy to use an in-house PA for amplifying vocals, in locations where more resources are built-in!
Song info:
This is our current repertoire. Yes, we are working to add a few beloved and soul-filled but also a lil bit SLOWER tunes into the mix... =P
